Management and editorial governance
- The journal is led by the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Gnanendra Shanmugam (Yeungnam University), supported by the Editorial Board of researchers from India and abroad, who serve renewable three-year terms under the Editorial Board Guidelines.
- The Editor-in-Chief is also the director of the publisher. To protect editorial independence, the Editor-in-Chief takes no part in decisions on manuscripts in which they have any interest, including their own submissions and those of their institution or collaborators; these are handled by a senior board member (see Competing Interests).
- The publisher's office manages the website, production, DOIs, archiving and article processing charges. It has no role in decisions on individual manuscripts; payment information is not visible to editors or reviewers.
- The editorial system and peer review process are described on the Peer Review Process and Editorial Policy pages.
Funding and revenue
- The journal is funded mainly by article processing charges (see APC), which cover peer review management, production, DOI registration, hosting and archiving. Waivers are available.
- Additional support comes from the publisher, OriGene Biosolutions, and, to a limited extent, from advertising on the website (see the Advertising & Marketing Policy).
- The journal receives no funding from governments, companies or other organisations that could influence its content. Any future sponsorship will be disclosed here and on the content concerned.
- There are no submission fees, and readers never pay to access articles.
