Editorial Board Guidelines

What we expect from, and promise to, the members of our editorial board.

Members of the editorial board of International Journal of Advances in Interdisciplinary Research accept these guidelines when they join or renew their membership. They follow the COPE core practices.

Term

Appointments are for 3 years and may be renewed by mutual agreement. Membership is honorary and unpaid.

Responsibilities

Handle about 2–4 manuscripts a year as handling editor and/or review 2–3 manuscripts a year in your field; respond to invitations within 7 days; suggest suitable reviewers; help attract good submissions and promote the journal in your community.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts, reviews, reviewer identities and editorial discussions are confidential. Do not share them, use unpublished data or ideas, or upload manuscripts or reviews to AI tools.

Conflicts of interest

Declare any conflict and do not handle or review manuscripts from your own institution, recent co-authors (last 3 years), students, collaborators, competitors or relatives.

Your own papers

Manuscripts you submit to IJAIDR follow the normal double-blind peer review, are handled by another editor, and declare your board membership. You will not see or influence their review. The journal limits the share of board-authored research papers.

Ethics

Follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines. Report suspected plagiarism, data manipulation or other misconduct to the Editor-in-Chief. Never ask authors to cite your own work or the journal's articles.

Decisions

Handling editors recommend a decision based on the reviewers' reports; the Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision. Decisions never depend on payment of the article processing charge.

Representing the journal

Do not promise acceptance, offer fast-track publication, or request or accept any payment on behalf of the journal.

Activity

Members who handle no manuscripts and do not respond to invitations for 12 months may be contacted and retired from the board.

Leaving the board

You may step down at any time by writing to the editorial office. Your name will then be removed from the website.

Joining the board

Researchers with a doctoral degree and a record of publications are welcome to apply to join the editorial board or to join our reviewer panel.
