Preprints & Repositories

Sharing your work before and after publication.

Preprints are welcome

Posting a preprint does not count as prior publication. Authors may submit a manuscript that has been posted on a recognised, non-commercial preprint server — for example bioRxiv, medRxiv, arXiv, Research Square, SSRN, ChemRxiv, Preprints.org or an institutional repository — at any time before or during peer review.

  • Please tell us about the preprint (server and DOI or link) in the cover letter when you submit.
  • You may update the preprint during review. Please do not post the reviewers' reports or the editor's decision letters.
  • After publication, please update the preprint record to link to the published article with its DOI, using wording such as: “This article has been published in International Journal of Advances in Interdisciplinary Research, IJAIDR, https://doi.org/[DOI].”
  • Preprints may be cited in the reference list, clearly marked as preprints.

Because review is double-blind, reviewers are asked not to search for the authors' identity. A public preprint does not by itself disqualify a manuscript, but authors should not draw reviewers' attention to it.

Versions of an article

VersionWhat it isWhere it may be shared
Preprint (submitted version)The manuscript before peer reviewAnywhere, at any time
Accepted manuscriptAfter peer review, before typesettingAnywhere, immediately on acceptance — no embargo
Published version (version of record)The final typeset PDF with DOIAnywhere, immediately, under CC BY 4.0

Self-archiving and repositories

All articles are published open access under the CC BY 4.0 licence, and authors keep the copyright. Authors may deposit any version in institutional or subject repositories (for example Shodhganga, PubMed Central where eligible, Zenodo, ResearchGate or a personal website) without embargo, provided the published article is cited with its DOI. This meets the open-access requirements of most funders and institutions.

Conference presentations and theses

Work presented at a conference as an abstract or poster, or included in a thesis or dissertation, may be submitted. Please mention it in the cover letter. Full papers already published in conference proceedings with an ISBN or DOI are considered prior publication unless substantially extended (see the Plagiarism Policy).
